The nuclear industry has an aging workforce.
New industry leaders need to be cultivated.
Leadership Energy Carolinas is an industry-specific initiative to train young leaders and build their camaraderie and network.
LEC is a personal and professional development forum. Organizations are asked to consider their high potential people for the one-year program. There are four LEC class sessions in each calendar year. The sessions teach communications, media, research, legislative issues and industry trends; the class members visit various nuclear operations in the two states. Our class members meet industry executives, policymakers and others critical to the success of the Carolinas’ nuclear industry. Class members are expected to be consistent in their attendance so they build familiarity and teamwork with other class members.
You must be recommended by a Cluster member or the management in your company. Candidates must complete an application and the selection team meets to ensure a balanced roster.
The cost is $2,500 for corporations/businesses. The cost for qualified education organizations with a nuclear or strong engineering component is $1,500. This includes on-site food, activity costs, materials and program management. Participants handle their own travel and expense, such as transportation to the meeting sites, hotel rooms, etc.
