Building on the Lowcountry region's well-deserved reputation as a desirable place to live, work and play the Creative Industries Cluster is at the forefront of this emerging industry inspiring the development of new design and building techniques, restoration technologies and innovative products and materials.

This cluster has formed a leadership group called Charleston's Creative Parliament. Discussions and planning meetings determine how to build the right infrastructure for people in the creative class. The group has worked to develop the right infrastructure for creative professionals, publish economic impact studies, produce community events, collaborate with economic development initiatives, and publish ongoing creative industry news through digital and press channels.

The following categories have been selected as areas of focus for the cluster:

  • Preservation & Restoration
  • Cultural Heritage
  • Architecture & Urban Design
  • Performing Arts
  • Visual Arts
  • Culinary Arts
  • Literary & Publishing
  • Digital Media & Design
