New Carolina: South Carolina's Council on Competitiveness

On September 22, 2011, New Carolina celebrated seven years of the competitiveness initiative in South Carolina.

Harvard professor and internationally lauded economic development guru Michael Porter gave the keynote address, applauding South Carolina’s progress toward strengthening its knowledge economy. Along with Porter’s speech, the New Carolina event included presentations from 11 cluster champions and a panel discussion on the future of South Carolina featuring Porter, Ed Sellers, Darla Moore, and Bill Mohoney.
